Cornerstone Construction Leaders
Cornerstone Construction Leaders are seasoned volunteers who step up to lead Habitat for Humanity-MidOhio build sites. They guide volunteers through each task, ensuring both safety and quality. They help keep projects moving smoothly, playing a key role in building stable homes and thriving communities.
What does a Cornerstone Leader do?
• Support and lead construction tasks
• Guide volunteers of all skill levels
• Manage on-site volunteer teams
• Enhance the volunteer experience
• Ensure both safety and high-quality work
• Help keep projects on schedule
• Work closely with Habitat MidOhio staff for guidance and support
Volunteer Opportunities:
• Build days - Help construct new Habitat homes while leading volunteers and future homeowners
• Training sessions - Lead construction training sessions for our future homeowners
• Shop work - Help with off-site tasks and specialty projects in our construction warehouse
(Most opportunities are on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.)

How to become a Cornerstone Leader:
- Attend our Cornerstone 101 course and any course(s) of your choosing - courses are usually offered on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, with other times available by request.
- Demonstrate leadership: Show that you can engage well with Habitat homeowners and fellow volunteers
- Show construction competence: Confirm your skills with our Construction Team, usually in 1-3 days leading the task on site
- Commit to leading on site 12 days a year
