Girls smiling at HabitatThousands of families in the Columbus area live in unsafe, substandard or overcrowded housing. 27 percent of Franklin County households had incomes below what was needed to afford rent and utilities for a two bedroom market rate apartment.

Unsafe, substandard or overcrowded living conditions affect children’s health and education, cause instability and insecurity in families and erode entire communities. Habitat for Humanity needs your help to change that.

Our goal is to build homes in partnership with families in need and dedicated volunteers in order to change lives and communities. We need your financial support for land acquisitions, house construction, family support and homeowner education programs.

Habitat for Humanity is a model that works. Over time, Habitat for Humanity homeowners strengthen the social and financial fabric of the Columbus community through lower neighborhood crime rates, higher property values and a growing tax base. Owning a decent and affordable home has been proven to:

  • Help ensure a child’s educational success,
  • Improve a family’s health and physical safety,
  • Grow a sense of dignity and pride,
  • Advance job prospects and performance, and
  • Lift families out of the cycle of poverty permanently.

You can provide the foundation for this success by providing a hand-up to dozens of Columbus neighbors this year. Donate today.
