Habitat MidOhio Receives Grant from Installed Building Products Foundation

(Columbus, OH) March 17, 2021 – Today, Habitat for Humanity - MidOhio announced that it has received a $35,000 grant from the Installed Building Products Foundation, a Columbus-Ohio based foundation that provides major grants for organizations involved in building or renovating homes or providing shelter for those in need. The funds are part of a $75,000 investment from the Installed Building Products Foundation in addressing the affordable housing crisis in the Columbus and Toledo area.

Grant funds will be applied to Habitat MidOhio’s owner-occupied home repair program. This program enables families to continue living in and maintaining a safe, decent, and affordable home.

“We are so gratified that Installed Building Products is partnering with Habitat MidOhio for the second consecutive year.  Their generous contribution of $35k to be used for home repairs will ensure that deserving homeowners will get the help they need to remain in safe surroundings,” said E.J. Thomas, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity – MidOhio. “Further, we're delighted that IBP will again be participating in our Playhouse Project Blitz Build.  We also appreciate that our partnership is allowing Habitat homeowners to participate in their Momentum onUp financial education program.  Thank you, IBP!"

The Installed Building Products Foundation is funded by Installed Building Products, one of the nation's largest new residential insulation installers. Funded in part by IBP employees, the Foundation aims to serve their employees – more than 8,000 across more than 190 locations across the U.S. – and the communities they live in. Through the Foundation’s Building Homes program, the Foundation awards funds to eligible nonprofits whose mission is to provide safe housing for those in need.

“Habitat for Humanity - MidOhio is such a staple in their community, and have demonstrated their commitment to improving the lives of those around them,” said IBP Foundation President Kelly Clifford Riehl. “When looking for grant partners, this is the exact type of organization and quality of work that we look for, and we are proud to support them this way.”
